When preparing to bring your baby into the world, there are items you will need to bring to the hospital to ensure you are comfortable during the labour process and the baby has everything it needs to make a safe entry to the world. Their journey to their new home should also be hassle free and an enjoyable experience.
It’s important that this experience is as comfortable as possible for you as this is a life changing process and can be overwhelming if you aren’t prepared. That is why we have constructed a list of items you should have in your hospital bag for the special day.
Essential items for mum
- Snacks or drinks of your choice
- Hair bobbles or clips to make sure your hair is out of your face
- Bring your own toiletries – make sure to bring your usual supply
- Comfortable, loose fitting and lightweight clothing for before, during and after birth which make you feel relaxed and not too hot
- Sleepwear such as slippers, comfy pyjamas and a dressing gown
Items to make you more comfortable and to help you relax
- Oils/massage lotion
- Lip balm
- Magazines
- Headphones for music or any of your electronics to pass the time
- Your own pillow to make you feel at home
